Polyphenylene oxide (PPO) is commonly referred to by its resin trade name of Noryl is a very unique material. What makes Noryl a unique material is that it a rare example of two different polymers (PPO and PS) that create a homogeneous material. Noryl exhibits unusually low moisture absorption delivering good electrical insulating properties over a wide range of humidity and temperature conditions. This also makes Noryl a good choice when dealing with chemical attacks from water, most salt solutions as well as acids and bases. Noryl can also be made with glass reinforcement to enhance the thermal and mechanical properties of the basic material.
