(Polytetrafluoroethylene) PTFE rods have exceptional chemical and corrosion resistance, resistance to stress-cracking, stability across a wide temperature range. PTFE is a crystalline polymer with a melting point of approximately 621°F (327°C) and a lower coefficient of friction than almost any other material. PTFE rod is often used in aerospace & chemical processing applications. PTFE, also know as Teflon® was invented by DuPont in 1938.
